Scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2008, the anniversary event will be marked by tours of the Miller, which is currently undergoing renovation, and a screening of the Academy Award © winning film at the Imperial.  The Miller Theatre was the site of the September 18, 1957 World Premiere of The Three Faces of Eve—the only time that such an event has been held in the city of Augusta.

The encore presentation of The Three Faces of Eve, inaugurates Augusta’s first-ever, ten-day long Westobou Festival.

The Three Faces of Eve, directed by Hollywood veteran screenwriter/director Nunnally Johnson, was based on the true story of Edgefield, South Carolina resident Chris Costner Sizemore and her battle with Multiple Personality Disorder.  The film starred Lee J. Cobb, David Wayne, and, in only her third feature film role, the young Joanne Woodward, who won her first Academy Award © as Best Actress in the role of a lifetime..

Chris Sizemore will be joining the celebration again this year, along with Jim Davis, original emcee for the 1957 World Premiere at the Miller Theatre. A special guest this year is longtime Augusta resident and founder of the Augusta Choral Society, Emily Remington, who was the organist for the 1957 World Premiere.

Tickets for this event, available through the Imperial Theatre box office (706-722-8341) or on line are $15 each.  The ticket price includes tours of the Miller, from 2:00 until 6:00, and the screening at the Imperial. Doors to the Imperial Theatre open at 7:00 p. m.  A limited number of VIP tickets are also available at $50.  VIP ticket includes preferred parking, reserved seating, and a VIP reception, in addition to the Miller Theater tour.  Proceeds from this event will help restore the Imperial Theatre’s original Wurlitzer pipe organ.

Lizzy Long began her playing music at an early age. While starting out on the piano, she soon took up the fiddle, guitar, autoharp, bass banjo, and mandolin, and has become an accomplished musician, alternating between these instruments as part of her entertainment repertoire.
